My studios have accomodations for all major areas of percussion: multiple-percussion/drum set, marimba/keyboard percussion, and orchestral percussion (snare drum, timpani, cymbals, etc.).
My Malletech 5-octave marimba is the crown jewel of my studios. I do most of my own practicing and performing on this instrument.
My Malletech features Honduras Rosewood bars, tunable brass resonators, solid oak frame, and height adjustment.
Below is a photo of my mallet bag. Different mallets allow the player to create different sounds and effects on the instrument.
In this studio are all the instruments that a percussionist plays when performing with an orchestra: snare drum, cymbals, triangle, tamborine, castanets, etc.
Timpani (copper bowl, pedal-operated). This studio also features stereo loudspeakers for performing with recordings.
A close-up of some of the mallets used for the timpani.
As you can see in the photo below, I have a plethora of percussion instruments for building percussion set-ups of all kinds.
A closer look at just one example of a multiple percussion set-up: a snare-drum, two toms, Tibetan cymbal, four gongs, two bowl gongs, two temple blocks, and three cow bells.
Drum set - featuring double bass drum pedals - great for working on four-way independence.
