This new suite is made up of four pieces which began life as music for guitar (1st two movements) and piano (2nd two movements). In 2004, Augusta Read Thomas and I collaborated on creating marimba versions of these works.

An anchialine pool is a land-locked body with a subterranean connection to the ocean. Anchialine pools are a feature of coastal aquifers which are density stratified, with the water near the surface being fresh or brackish, and saline water intruding from the coast below at some depth. This 2008 work is in three sections:

2. Halocline
3. Shoal

4. Lethe (Handel offers up a letter of admonition)
