In early 2005, Kevin Ernste began composing a new work for solo marimba, percussion quartet, and computer-generated sounds for me. He has just finished the first draft, look for the premiere in September 2008.

Allan Schindler

Take Flight

With support from a Fromm Foundation grant, Allan Schindler will be composing a new work for me and my modern marimba3 set-up. This work will be featured on my hybrid multi-channel SACD recording project Powered Flight.

Augusta Read Thomas

Silhouettes

This new suite is made up of four pieces which began life as music for guitar (1st two movements) and piano (2nd two movements). In 2004, Augusta Read Thomas and I collaborated on creating marimba versions of these works.
